Meet Anita Thomsen, Our New Manager for Mammal Rehabilitation

We are happy to announce the appointment of Anita Thomsen as our new ManagernewManager in charge of mammal rehabilitation. Originally hailing from Norway, Anita developed a connection to wildlife early on in a rural setting and brought it with her upon moving to the United States. After working in construction here for an extended period, she turned back to wildlife care for 12 years, serving as a Vet Tech at both Silverado Veterinarian Hospital and California Pet Hospital. Then, as luck would have it, she met Deb, one of our star rehabbers.  Shortly after, Anita started with WRCNC as a squirrel specialist, and later took the squirrel rehab lead.  She has now expanded her scope, to care for a broad range of our wild mammal residents, including foxes and skunks. Her experience and enthusiasm have already been a great boost to our wildlife care programs. We’re excited about the increased level of acre that Anita will bring to our wild patients.

Please help us to continue our important work.
