Fundraising Development & Grants Manager
Position Summary
Napa Wildlife Rescue is seeking a Fundraising Development & Grants Manager to lead our fundraising efforts, including annual giving, mid-level and major donor development, donor communications, grants, and events.
This role is responsible for generating consistent and growing revenue to support all areas of operations, including wildlife rehabilitation, education, and community programs. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of fundraising efforts from concept through completion, think strategically, and bring creative, outside-the-box ideas to grow donor support.
The role also serves as a key connector across the organization, working closely with leadership, staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors to align fundraising priorities with organizational needs.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a can-do attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for wildlife and animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Lead fundraising campaigns, including year-end appeals and Napa CanDo Give!Guide
Develop and implement a donor roadmap across low, mid-level, and major donors
Cultivate and steward mid-level and major donor relationships through special communications and outreach
Write donor communications, including appeals, marketing materials, and impact updates
Research, write, and manage grant proposals and reporting
Coordinate social media and email communications with external partners to support fundraising efforts
Standardize marketing and donor-facing materials for consistent messaging
Develop clear talking points to support Board’s efforts in community outreach & major gift cultivation
Plan and support mid-level and major donor fundraising events
Represent the organization through community events and speaking engagements
Lead and coordinate a volunteer fundraising committee
Track fundraising performance and maintain accurate donor data in CRM system
Required Qualifications
Strong writing and communication skills
Excellent organizational and project management abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, including mid-level donor stewardship, donor relations, or grant writing
Comfort with public speaking and community engagement
Experience coordinating communications across multiple channels
Self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
Enthusiastic, adaptable, and brings a strong can-do attitude
Interest in wildlife, conservation, or animal welfare
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Canva or similar design tools
Experience with Mailchimp, Meta Business, Google Docs, and Squarespace
Prior experience with nonprofit CRM software
Familiarity with press or media outreach
Experience supporting or planning events
Work Schedule
Standard business hours with flexibility required during peak periods
Some evenings and weekends required
