Interns will gain experience in…

• Day-to-day center operations

• Species identification of songbirds, raptors and mammals

• Wildlife husbandry

• Medical triage and continued care of sick and injured wildlife

• Care for infant wildlife

Interns must be comfortable with…

• Working with wild animals that may have zoonotic diseases

• Working with wild animals that may bite and/or scratch

• Doing lots of cleaning

• Handling deceased animals for our raptor and mammal diets

• Working outside on hot days (with break, we have AC)

• Euthanasia of wildlife that are non-releasable (Interns will not be euthanizing wildlife)
